Can owners or former owners give me some feedback on how well it shoots and pocket conceals? I'm looking for a pocket carry gun small enough to disappear and shoot well enough at conversational distances. My current CCW is an EMP@ 3 O'clock IWB or a G-23. This doesn't always work for me depending on location and I need a backup anyway.

I've shot the LCR in .38 and also .357/.38 (Dad got the laser grip .38, brother got .357) trigger is great, sights okay, neither is comfortable to shoot for extended times but you really can't go wrong with a snub for carry. The slight weight added to the 9mm and .357 models are not really noticeable for carry, but It probably helps keep recoil down.Last edited by plumbum; 10-14-2016, 2:20 PM.Originally posted by ysr_racerPlease don't bring logic and reason into an interwebs discussion

I have 9mm LCR and I like it a lot, I think 9mm is a more effective round in LCR, then 38 or 357, but I do not CCW carry it, so I cant help you with that aspect.
Recoil is not much of an issue with OEM grip, but your pinky is left hanging.
I did change OEM grip to Hogue Ruger LCR No Finger Groove Rubber Tamer Cushion Grip Black 78030 on my wife's 9mm LCR gun, because it is much more comfortable to shoot with, but it increases the lengths by about an inch.
I also installed Pachmayr Diamond Pro LCR Grip on another 9mm LCR I have, it is about half an inch longer then OEM grip, but have not tried it yet due to rains, will try it this Sunday or Monday.
The gun shoots POA, I did not like OEM sights, so I replaced them with HIVIZ Ruger LCR Front Green Sight I like green fiber optic much better then white outline on OEM sight. I had no problems with POA after changing sights.
I use OEM moon clips, they are well made and require no tools to load or unload.
The only issue I had with 9mm LCR, was with crimp jump with Blazer 115 gr and 124 gr FMJ ammo, some with Winchester white box too. No crimp jump with Federal HST 147 gr or 124 gr Hydra-Shok, also no crimp jump with European or South African made 9mm FMJ ammo. Since I reload, I plan to re-crimp problematic ammo using 9mm Lee factory crimp die, that should solve the problem.
All in all I am very satisfied with 9mm LCR and definitely would CCW carry it. I must say that it does disappear in the front jeans pocket and even more so in the jacket pocket, and weight is not noticeable at all.Last edited by MyOdessa; 10-14-2016, 4:51 PM.Comment

Shoots like a dream. Built in recoil taming system. Buttery smooth trigger. And great for pocket, ankle, or IWB carry. Really excellent gun.Comment

My recoil taiming system is in my wrist, LOL.
Thanks for the input guys. I may be making a purchase in the near future. I really need a pocket warmer. I prefer something in 9mm to standardize carry ammo. I'm considering an auto as well but owning a wheel gun is tempting because of SHTF reliability." I watched the video from H45 on the LCR9. The mandatory moon clip thing is a slight bummer to me, I understand why." He is mistaken in that video.
Moonclips are not needed. It even states that in the manual.
With moonclips, the extractor pushes them all out at once. They are also faster than speed loaders.
Without moon clips, the empties may not all fall out at once.Comment

Really, that would be nice, I'm looking into this one. Thanks." A Free People Ought Not Only Be Armed And Disciplined But Should Have Sufficient Arms And Ammunition To Maintain A Status Of Independence From Any Who Might Attempt To Abuse Them, Which Also Includes Their Own Government."

Moon clips look difficult to CCW. They're bulky and you have to be careful not to bend them.Comment
