There are Railguns, and then there are guns with rails.

If you do that you might be missing out. One of my best range trips was the first time I took my daughter. There were some awesome people on either side of us. All of us had different guns. That day I got to shoot a brand new Sig .45, HK 9mm, AR15, AR10, Antique stock loading 22, Ruger 10/22, 1911, Glock 22.

It was nice because I don't have a .223/.556 AR and my daughter (14 y/o at the time) fell in love with that rifle. She was a better shot than me with it.

She was hesitant to shoot my .308 AR, and probably wouldn't have if she didn't break the ice with the pea shooter first.

The people were great and really added to the experience. It all depends on the people though.

That is not a railgun, this is a railgun:
In its current form, the railgun simply requires too much power for widespread use. But the Navy has a few ideas for its future.

Basically it uses magnets to accelerate a projectile to ridiculous speeds. The Sci-Fi version is to use an electromagnetic field/pulse to move a small amount of heavy metal particles to near light speed. I doubt Colt has this tech...but would be really cool in a 1911 frame.

I have high-end 1911 taste but a Glock budget. Fortunately my Glocks, Berettas and CZ's go bang every time. So at least there's that.

You really believe that? DW runs circles
Around anything colt makes. Let alone Wilson or Baer.
