    Seller's Remorse.

Has anyone ever sold a gun that at the time seemed like a good idea and then regretted it later. I sold my XD40 tactical a month ago and I have been regretting it ever since. I know 40s&w isn't the flavor of the month right now but it was an excellent handgun and I miss shooting it.

I've been thinking of selling my XD40 to consolidate calibers. It's my only 40SW. I do love shooting it. You've made me think twice about it now.
      HELP HELP! I'M BEING REPRESSED!

Yes, when I was younger and I still kick myself for doing so. And for stupid reasons like the girl I was living with not wanting any in the house, or needing the money for a different gun purchase.

          CZ40B
          Series 70 Colt Officers
          Ruger Vaquero bright stainless
Mak90 (back before the 2001 ban)

And a whole host of other pistols I can't bear to put down cause I would get too sad.

yep, I had a Ruger Single 6 with the 22 mag cylinder I bought it when I was 13 at a gunshow in Salt Lake.

I kick myself every time I think about not having anymore :-(

one I don't regret selling was a Sig P220R just don't like the double / single action.

All of my buddies that have sold guns, later regretted it.

                Buy them, keep them.
                Sorry, not sorry.

I believe there are times in your life when selling is the right option, for instance..
If you're moving out of the country,

you are in an emergency/rush need for money

and just maybe if you are very very old and therefore unable to use the majority of your collection and no one to pass them down to.

The trick in those cases is getting rid of the ones you don't have a sentimental attachment to, or that they are easy to replace (and yet finding a way to keep the special ones).
That means nothing custom, rare or with a family history or personal attachment.

I would hold on to it. I thought I would be ok just have 9mm handguns but I shot my brothers glock 22 and realized how much I missed shooting 40s&w.
