          do your homework.
I don't understand why you can't give up on this.
From what you have said, I am pretty sure that you have never detail stripped you P226 (you probably don't own a P226 or any P22x), you have never field stripped any of your semi-auto handguns. Gun parts don't work the way you think they do.
My range report told you that I punched holes on paper with a P226 without decocker. It took a sequence of spring pressure changes to achieve that. Did that give you any hint?
Everybody started from 0 knowledge of gun, including the greatest Browning. That's the way we are and I think that's perfectly OK. What I don't understand is that why someone has no knowledge of something but still wants to pretend to have a lot of knowledge of it.

Ok hotshot. I currently have 23 Sigs. 21 P series and two 1911's. I have been shooting P series Sigs for over 20 years. I bet you were still in diapers when I started shooting Sigs. I have stripped then down more times than you have I can garuntee that.

If you are going to accuse someone of not knowing anything about a subject... Please do your research. You will find that the majority of posts here that I have made are Sig related. Ohh and I also recommend you post this little ditty over on Sigforum. They will have a field day.

                    QXSOUP,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you lower the hammer without using the decocker, the firing pin safety is disengaged?

I think the OP should find another hobby, say watching TV.

It's a good thing he doesn't work on cars. What this castle nut in the middle of the steering wheel? It's ugly, I'll just remove it, don't like it anyway.
If you want change you have to put in your 2 cents, you can't just sit on the sidelines and whine.

Yes that is true... kind of. The FP block isn't released until you pull the trigger. When you use the decocker it moves the hammer into the safety notch. The hammer isn't full forward so the pistol can't go off if you were to drop it. Without the decocker the hammer will go full forward.

No it's just a single action only pistol... But with the biggest of the four safeties not available.

At one time I had almost 40 of them. I've "thinned down" my collection since then.

Qx with all those sigs I'm surprised you don't have any x5's or x6's. Not that there is anything wrong with the p series they're just not as nice as the x's.
