    Kal version cz 94B Question

I have tried to search this topic to no avail.

After seeing Calgunners praise the CZ 97B in innumerable threads, I took the plunge and jailed one yesterday. I know the model enjoyed a facelift in 2013 and am sure the "Kal version" I bought was manufactured just for Kalifornia using the old design as featured "on the approved list."

I assume once I take delivery I can explore modifying the gun to incorporate any refinements included in the 2013 version. What are those refinements (other than the grip and front sight) and is there a consensus about how best to make the changes or have them made?

Also, how do people feel about the trigger? Compared to my 1911s, it seemed less crisp than it might have.

I think he meant 97b. I find the first thing I upgrade on the cz besides what you mentioned is the hammer. It improves many functions in that firearm.

        CZ Rubber OEM Grips
        CGW Hammer & Sear
        CGW SA Trigger
CGW FPB spacer (remove firing pin block)

Those 4 mods made my 97B my favorite pistol.

How did you have these mods done?

The only differences in the two models are the sights and the grips as far as i am aware.

I also believe that the differences are limited to the front sight (red fiber optic vs white dot) and the grip (thin aluminum vs wood).

As far as how to replace them to mimic the non-CA version, I believe you can buy the aluminum grips and fiber optic front sight from CZ USA. You can easily swap the grips and you can have a competent gunsmith replace the front sight.

Regarding the trigger, it is SA/DA so it is different from your 1911 triggers, which are SAO. The reach is also different. The CZ's trigger is probably closer to a revolver's trigger as far as feel.

                  Good luck.
