Okay I traded the SD9VE for a glock 17 gen 3, now I'm wondering what upgrades should i do on the gun?

This is what I had in mind and not sure about the sights and guide rod

Ammo and sights. The rest is pure lipstick. Hell, I've seen aftermarket guide rods turn reliable guns into unreliable guns...

Definitely sights, stock glock sights are awful.

I still shoot with stock sights on my two Glocks. Start with ammo then "fix" what you deem unacceptable, sights is a highly recommended area. Upgrading before shooting it a lot is indeed lipstick.

              Glock 17 Gen 3 upgrades?

For competition guns I use ghost Connector, 13# recoil spring, 6# trigger spring, reduced safety plunger spring, and 4# firing pin spring with 25 cent trigger job.

Either Dawson or Warren sights. Beware the Dawson sights do rust so oil is needed especially on the rear sight

I'd do sights of whatever flavor you prefer. For target I'd recommend warren black rear and fiber front. For target/home defense I'd do the ameriglo set with a plain black rear and a tritium front dot.

If you decide to mess with the trigger the minus connector is a good cheap upgrade. Taran Tactical also makes a 3.25# guaranteed drop in spring kit and it's still reliable with all primer types. If you go any lower weight you have to use federal primers only. Not a restriction I like to deal with.

swap out the sights and you're done. the Glock pistol is otherwise gtg from the box.
