Difference between HK P7 PSP & HK P7M8

I try to search informations here but word HK or P7 was too short,
Sorry if this was covered once,
    What are the differences?
I see price is about $400-500 difference between the two,
    & looks same,
So are these are the same gun as function or quality ?

The bigggest difference between the two is the PSP has a European style magazine release, and the P7M8 has an American style magazine release.

The P7M8 is on the handgun roster, the PSP is not.

Other than that, they are largely the same. They are both top quality, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy either one.

P7M8 also has a heat shield around the triggerguard.

Same gun basically. The P7M series is the improved version of the P7 PSP if I'm not mistaken. It has an American style magazine release plus a heat shield in front of the trigger guard under the barrel to protect your fingers from getting that searing experience after you've put a lot of rounds through the barrel. Both the P7 PSP and the P7M series get fairly warm after about 25-50 rounds.

Seems like PSP sold for less only if I can find one.

I like the PSP/P7 more than the M8 variation for a couple of reasons. I never did care for the way they did the magazine release on the M8, and I don't like the larger trigger guard. There is really a fine 9mm pistol to be had in the original design, it is fairly compact but shoots as well or better than just about anything else in 9mm. The sad part is that here we can't easily obtain the German police trade in guns that sell for $600 in the other states, and even when they do show up the Ca. premium bumps the price at least a couple hundred dollars.

The typical PSP sold for those prices are refurbs from the German police. Hence the cheaper price. The PSPs have the magazine release in the butt of the gun and it doesn't have the heat shield.

                  Try entering:

                  P7M8

                  in the search box.

Which means you can shoot two mags instead of just one before it becomes irritatingly hot.
