Glock Trigger Plunger Stuck in Slide

Hey guys, I noticed an issue where my G21 had an inconsistent trigger safety reset. So I took it apart to see if there was an issue with the safety plunger, and it turns out I can't get it out of the slide.

When I press the plunger down, the spring compresses and makes a few clicking sounds. I suspect that the spring may have somehow become misaligned, and the plunger is now stuck.

Any tips on how to fix this? I've tried yanking it out with some pliers (no worries if I break the plunger, I can get a new one). But I just need it out of the slide so I can remove the spring!

Can I assume you have disassembled your pistol in the past, and that you know the extractor has to be taken out while the spring is depressed, and then the safety plunger should just fall out.

I just read the below post, and he makes a valid point. The very last thing to take apart in the slide disassembly is the safety plunger. The entire slide must be completely disassembled to get to the point of taking out the safety plunger.

I believe that if you take the extractor out, you can use a pick to push the plunger out. The extractor should be removable by taking the rear plate off and taking the extractor shaft and spring off. I'm like 70% sure.

Ive had a plunger spring sit askew in there myself and now I check the plunger for operation every time I strip the gun down.
