CZ 75 TS into CZ Checkmate

CZ Checkmate is not on the roster. Is it a good idea to buy CZ TS then upgrade it into Checkmate version? What are differences between those two guns that one costs $1300 and another $3300? Any recommended website for such upgrades? I'm thinking about joining IPSC.

As i understand it the slide of the Checkmate is quite different to the TS. There may also be differences in the frame interior. I am unclear on all of the details.

If you do not find clarity in this thread you might contact CZ custom.

I asked Stuart Wong this very question a while ago. I can't recall the reason, but he said a Czechmate slide would be needed, and short of buying a complete Czechmate and stripping it for its parts, the slides are not available from CZ. It would also be prohibitively expensive as the Tac Sport frame also needs a grip reduction to match the Czechmate contours.

So the Tac Sport is sent off to Stuart for "another project"
