    threaded barrel Glock 19

    Hello all,
I was wondering if someone could help me or point me in the right direction. I'm a new gun owner about 6 months into it. Love it and have a couple guns and rifle for now.

I read on a couple thread you should look into upgrading your glock when you have a chance. I wanted to change the color and some other things to it. But I really wanted to get a threaded barrel.

Now my question is. In cali is it illegal to have a threaded barrel on a glock 19? I really need to make sure don't feel like getting into trouble since it took me a long stressful time to purchase a gun. Want to keep my record clean since I'm really thinking of getting my CCW hopefully next year.

    Thanks in advance...

Get your CCW paperwork in as soon as possible.
From my understanding threaded barrel is a no-no, unless it has a compensator on it permanently, or if the thread protector is permanently affixed to the threads.

^ Yup, threaded barrel on a pistol, that is not permanently covered, will trigger AW status unless you install a BB/mag lock to make it a "fixed" magazine.

And who wants a bullet button on a pistol?
        NOBODY.

Does that mean a Mauser C96 can have a threaded barrel without being a so-called "assault weapon?"

You can put a bullet button on it and put a threaded barrel.

Then next year register it as a RAW, then you'll be able to ditch the bullet button and keep the threaded barrel.
