    Sig 226 LCI replacement

    Hi everyone,

I was wondering if there was a low profile replacement Loaded Chamber Indicator for the Sig 226? I know there is one for the M and P shield that is sold through apex tactical which is low profile and doesn't stick out as much and doesn't have the red text on the LCI. Does one exist for the Sig 226?

    Thanks all!

I could design a replacement that would sit flush all of the time. It could be 3D printed in stainless steel & Cerakoted. let me know if you are interested.

Just file/grind the nub that the case engages. The more you grind away, the less it lifts up when a round is chambered. Just be sure to recreate the angle for best operation.

This isn't rocket science, and you don't need a 3D printer.

You can order a spare here for $6 if you don't want to mod your original. http://www.midwestgunworks.com/page/...d/1300395-02-R

You can even file the nub away completely and the LCI will be disabled. Paint the top flat black, and you have a filler. That is what I would do *if* I ever owned a nanny-state Sig (which I wouldn't, ever). I don't want any crap interfacing with the round in my chamber, and these have been known to fail and render the gun inop or unreliable so may as well neuter it and get rid of the problem.

I considered grinding mine down like Skyhawk mentions. But the stupid lettering annoyed me as well. Instead I picked up caliber X-change kit for $375 and was able to sell my old slide for $300.

I think I'll do that mod to my P238.
