    Pistols with threaded barrels

    Hello everyone,

How are AR and AK pistols able to have flash hinders? I've seen a few in CA and I'm just wondering what needs to be done to the pistol I order to allow for a threaded barrel and flash hinder. I.e. Bullet button? Pistol grip wrap?

I have a clone MP5SD pistol and a Sig553 pistol I'm bringing with me into CA when I move in a few months, just trying to figure out how to legally configure them.

I would obviously prefer to not ruin the threaded barrels.

    Thanks in advance,

You have to comply with the new law saying to remove the magazine you must disassemble the firearms arms action. The other option potentially is to register it as an AW if you will be here before the end of the year. Look into SB 880 and AB 1135. This is their definition of "fixed magazine":
    (b) For purposes of this section, “fixed magazine” means an ammunition feeding device contained in, or permanently attached to, a firearm in such a manner that the device cannot be removed without disassembly of the firearm action.

They will be in CA and declared before 2017. I do plan on registering them as AW, if I do that then they can have flash hinders/threaded barrels?

Currently AR, AK, and some other pistols that have a magazine well outsideof the pistol grip require a mag lock to be legal. A threaded barrel is only illegal on pistols with a detachable magazine. That means by law, a legally configured AR pistol can also have a threaded barrel
Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

Ok so a mag lock allows for a threaded barrel and use of a flasH hinder? That was the answer I was looking for.

Basically come 1/2017 either register it or have some type of mag lock that won't release the magazine unless the gun's action is opened or disassembled. A BB won't fly anymore.

I plan on registering them. I Obviously don't want to, but It is what it is
