    Best off-roster revolvers

What off-roster revolvers are worth looking for, either via single action exemption or PPT? The two big choices I'm aware of are Colt Python and Chiappa Rhino. Any others?

Any Colt revolver, and S&W pre lock. And even better a S&W pre lock with a pinned barrel.

Chapuis-MANURHIN series of revolvers. Wish I could have got one when AIM had 357s at a decent price. Damn Ca rules.

Pinned and recessed K frames, like the Model 19, 66, etc.

A lot depends on your intended use. Like ARdude said, any pre-lock S&W. Personally I stay away from Colts because they are more delicate and harder to get fixed when they do go wrong. I have a few Colts I couldn't pass up.

Look for any pre-lock smith with 3" or 3.5" barrel as they are more desirable. A 3" Model 13 is the grail gun for a lot of folks; so is the 3.5" Model 27 or 28.

You serious about the Rhino? I mean, have you seen them?

Prelock and per MIM is a.start but S&W revolvers have gone through several updates and depending on the model some dash numbers are more desirable.

I have been extremely happy with the new Dan Wesson 715................no lock either, available inter changeable barrels.

I thought the DW was on-roster. Did that change or was it never listed?

I was just in Elite Armory in Manteca today and they had Two brand new Chiappa Rhino's... Don't ask me how, but they were there in the case for sale.... I thought I over heard something about they were converted to single action or something like that.

I like the way they look. I'm not a revolver guy, but if i did ever buy a revolver, i would buy a rhino just because they look different.
