What off-roster revolvers are worth looking for, either via single action exemption or PPT? The two big choices I'm aware of are Colt Python and Chiappa Rhino. Any others?

Any Colt revolver, and S&W pre lock. And even better a S&W pre lock with a pinned barrel. -

A lot depends on your intended use. Like ARdude said, any pre-lock S&W. Personally I stay away from Colts because they are more delicate and harder to get fixed when they do go wrong. I have a few Colts I couldn't pass up.
Look for any pre-lock smith with 3" or 3.5" barrel as they are more desirable. A 3" Model 13 is the grail gun for a lot of folks; so is the 3.5" Model 27 or 28.

I was just in Elite Armory in Manteca today and they had Two brand new Chiappa Rhino's... Don't ask me how, but they were there in the case for sale.... I thought I over heard something about they were converted to single action or something like that.Comment

Pre lock and pre MIM S&W's
Colt Python, Diamondback, Cobra, Anaconda, Trooper, Detective Special.
