Made in 1992, it is a MKIII. I believe MKII's were made from 1982-1988 or 89.

Last question if the Browning Hi-Power is on the DOJ list does that mean all Hi-Powers are approved and can be shipped with in the state.

No, has to be Browning, there are other makers of Hi-Powers/High Powers

            Nope.

Browning Hi-Power listings are only for the Browning marked Mk III.
(Browning Arms. Utah. Made in Belgium. Assembled in Portugal)

FN HP-SA listings are only for the FNH/FNMI marked Mk III.

Do you have any sort of proof that only Mark IIIs are on the roster? The roster itself does not specify a particular series, at least for FN.
It literally says FN HP-SA and that is it.

Not trying to antagonize you, but I have bought a couple of FN Hi Powers online and saw no limit on what series of pistol is on the roster when I did so.

This has the (Browning Arms. Utah etc) stamped on it but no MK III stamped on it so no go?

The FN marked pistols don't have to be MkIII. I have ordered a few.

None of them will have the series stamped on them. It is not any part of the pistol's designation other than collectors referring to production changes.
The roster DOES say "steel" on the listing, which presumably (and unfortunately) rules out the somewhat uncommon alloy frame models.
Other than that, any FN or Browning Hi Power should be roster-approved.

None of the Hi-Powers, no matter what manufacturer, are stamped with MKIII or MK II.
Your serial number starts with 245, which designates 9mm. The NY is the year of manufacture (N=9, Y=2).

Buy it, you wont regret it. Hi-Powers are great guns.

Just remember that Fabrique Nationale and Browning are two different companies, and the roster treats them as such.

This is a Browning in a Browning box.

                            Another thought

The BHP is one of my all time favorite handguns. Anyways in CA the value stays high because of the roster. When I go up to the PNW I find High Powers that are $400 or so because the Israelis are selling off their surplus. Most of the Israeli surplus military and police High Powers can not ship to CA.
