If you plan on using a scope on it, I think the Hunter is the only one thats threaded for scop mounts....

OP here,

Thanks for all the great info everybody! In the end I checked them all out and decided on the Mk III Competition, new from a gun store. I actually really liked the feel of that thumbrest wood grip, and when comparing it back to back with the 5.5 bull barrel model, the balance just felt a little better for me on the GC. The hardest part was trying to justify the sizeable price difference, but in the end I went with my heart, figuring that 20 years from now I would probably want the GC more than the bull.

Only annoying part is that I forgot that, having moved recently, my licence and registration don't match my current address. So they wouldn't let me start the background check Oh well, it's paid for, so no one else will get it at least.

BTW, all models with adjustable sights come tapped for the weaver mount. So every model except the base.

I have 2. One stock stainless barrell, & the 2004 Olympic Shooting Team model. No matter what I bring to the range, I always bring one of those. Love the trigger on the MK II, and haven't noticed much difference from the stock model to the limited edition. But I'm not nearly as gun savy as most on this site. I just like to shoot.
