Sig 229 .357 with German proof mark value

Have a Sig 229 that I picked up while stationed in Germany around 1996. I brought it back via an ATF form 1. I am trying to gauge a value on it to see if it has appreciated since I bought it.

Serial number begins with AE 45 XXXX. Has proof marks on the barrel, slide and frame.

That is really awesome, I haven't seen a real German 229 for sale. $1400 sounds reasonable.

That's really cool. Definitely rare in the US to have German proof marks on a P229. Serial number puts it at '95. Proof mark is '96.

I was thinking about it but don't want to join the forum for just one post. I only have room in my life for one gun forum.

                  Up to you.
You have what I would consider an aficionado's gun.
A lot of people won't register that a short extractor Sig would even have proof marks on them.
