    JHP & SP01 = FTF

Hey, my new SP01 is having trouble feeding Winchester Ranger SXT. The round just goes up and lodges itself between the chamber and the breach face. If I run FMJ then it's all good. Seems like a feed ramp issue due to the way the round misses the chamber when feeding. Did anyone else here have trouble with JHP with their SP01? Tried both mags that cam with the gun and got same result. Thanks in advance

Fully greased up the gun? I've never had an issue with HSTs or Gold Dots.

Ditch the grease---oil works so much better. Why people use grease guns in beyond me. 5w-20 Mobil One is the best stuff you can use on guns. I have over 25000 rounds on SP-01s with out any FTF/FTE/FT-yada-yada-yada.

BUT CZ's have a very short throat-so take the barrel out and do the plunk test. drop a round in the barrel/chamber and it should go down to even with the hood and spin pretty easily. Try it with several bullet types. CZ's are designed to be NATO combat guns and are designed to shoot ball ammo (FMJ).

On my one CZ without a throated chamber I have to load Montana Gold HP stupid short actually it's the same with my Kimber 1911. I load them to 1.105. But for my SIG's, M&P's and Glock's I can load to 1.135 easily if I wanted to.

Some guns don't like certain ammo. You can dump the gun, try to fix it, or try other ammo.

While fixing the gun so it runs all ammo would be ideal, it may not be feasible.

Before you dump the gun, try other ammo brands.

Figured it'seems a duty gun abd should run almost anything. I noticed the shape of the JHP round catches the feed ramp at a weird angle hence the feeding issue. I'll try different ammo. Any recommendations?

Duty gun? Name one police department in the US that issues CZ SP-01s. It was designed in the Czech Republic to be a combat gun. A gun that uses ammo under Nato rules, ball ammo, not HP's.

To me the CZ is a solid foundation to build the gun you want. I had to throat two of my SP-01 to shoot HP's, my third one I left the barrel stock because I just shoot RN out of it. I can load those long if I want.
