Original Hi Power for $350? I'd grab it. I like the early internal extractor models with a dimple on the slide."There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights. War for any other reason is simply a racket."
Excerpt from a speech delivered in 1933, by Major General Smedley Butler, USMC.

Caveat Emptor, it is Armslist.
Price sounds good if it just needs a small amount of fixing unless you want to own pretty stuff.

If it is functional and doesnt have any cracks in frame, BUY IT. $350 for any Hi Power is a great deal doesnt get any cheaper than that. You can always refinish it.Last edited by Tere_Hanges; 08-25-2016, 6:37 PM.CRPA and NRA member.

I dont get this Armlist scam FUD. I've bought and sold on Armslist many times. Everyone I met was a class act. I think you have to be a total moron to get scammed on armslist.
Dont give out your full name and meet at the Gunstore, it doesnt get much simpler than that.CRPA and NRA member.

Sounds like a great deal. Looks like it may need a facelift eventually. If all it needs are new springs it may be worth it. I'd double check the barrel too, look for bulging, dings on the muzzle, and pitting.
I've been looking around for a nice blued version and found a nice 1985 one priced almost three times as much.I see your swartz is as big as mine, now let's see how well you handle itComment

Surplus hi powers are as common as a Prius in a Starbucks parking lot right now. The potential value of that one is its age...assuming it still fires and functions. Or the seller isn't a scam artist in Dubai.Originally posted by CFVIf you ask the democrat = that's an uneccesary arsenal

Its no scam i talked to the gentleman and recieved several different pics of my asking. Ive boughten so many guns/ammo off armslist- its my go to here in michigan now that i lost calguns...Ive just never owned a hi power and always wanted one- the age makes me nervous as it was surplus too. If the gun has major wear or cracks where should i look?
Personally i dont mind the nickel but prefer blue- how bad would the value go down refinishing it? I mean itll be a shooter not a queen but just curious. Anyone know what the price is to strip nickel and say blue/cerekote the gun?Last edited by CaliforniaRepublicShooter; 08-26-2016, 4:28 AM.When the power of love overcomes the love of power...only then will there be peace on earth...until then stay armed

Check firing pin retaining plate. $20 to replace, not a big deal. Check the screwheads and see if they are buggered. Usually a sign of lame gunsmithing. Check the hammer doesn't drop when safety is on.
The safety will feel mushy unless it has been worked on.Comment

If it's on arms list, and it's not here in CA where you could safely meet with the seller at an FFL to inspect it, I'd pass. The only way I'd buy from armslist out of state is from an FFL whose info I can confirm.Comment
