Hey guys,

I got a sig 226 with the srt trigger and i'm getting blisters on the bottom (side in reality) of my finger. Has anyone else had this issue? I've heard it happens with the CZ's as well?

What are my options (besides developing a huge blister resistant callus)?

A friend who is used to Beretta 92s shot a Sig P228 and complained that his finger rubbed on the inside of the trigger guard. I tried it and felt no rubbing. I think he was used to a different style of holding a pistol so it wasn't easy to transition grip styles.

If your P226 does not have the E squared grip you can get that and switch to the regular trigger. The E squared grip moves the web of your hand closer to the backstrap so it's easier to reach the trigger.

I sold a CZ P-01 because of that problem. It has a "recurve" trigger that I found quite uncomfortable and after 2 or 3 mags the side of my finger was getting rubbed raw.

Get a standard thick trigger and throw the short trigger away. They are made for people with midget hands. It's a 5 min job to swap them out and you only need a screwdriver.

I got it from the bottom of my finger rubbing the trigger guard of my P6. It was a deal breaker.

I noticed the new P225 has the bottom of the trigger guard flared. I would love to try one out.

When you say SRT, do you mean the short reset or short reach trigger? My finger gets pinched by the short reach trigger when the shot breaks. It catches some skin between the back of the trigger and the frame. If you have the same issue then try to go with the standard trigger or Gray Guns intermediate trigger.

My p226 and 229 don't bother me but the VP9 would give me trigger bite. It would hurt so much that I could not shoot it after 50 rounds. If it is bothering you I would look into another hand gun. You can put on gloves or a band aid but that is not real world salutation. IMO
