Update Glock 19 wear - Glock Tech response

I've owned several Glocks and this is my second 19. Took it out to the range on Sunday and when I took it apart to clean I found these scratches inside slide where barrel protrudes. They're very rough, almost sharp when you run finger.

I've never seen this wear before in any of my 6-7 Glocks, including my never cleaned step dad's G23C.

Any thoughts?

Barrel looks perfect. Lube was Mil-Comm TW25b light film as usual.

Cosmetic, poor finishing? If it doesn't effect performance?

Almost looks like it happened while shooting...?

I'd imagine if it were due to poor finishing the bare metal would be finished with the slide?

Yeah it happened during the range trip. I did have one FTF but I suspect one of my magazines for that (I had issues with my newer 10 round mags that I had to et replacement followers from (Glock).

It's just bizarre that in the course of 100 rounds a gun with over 500 rounds suddenly gets drastic wear there that feels like little gouges. They're physically sharp to the touch not like smoothed worn away black finish.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this or if I should call Glock.

I installed the sight myself which I've done several times, I've had this sight for a couple years and this wear just happened.

Factory recoil spring, seems fine. Gun hand cycles like butter, only the one FTF at range.

Someone practiced blind folded strip and assembly on that thing?

I would thinking muscling the barrel in multiple times can cause some of that.

I doubt muscling the barrel in would cause gouges deep enough to feel sharp to the touch.

Yes, it looks like tool chatter, perpendicular and off to the barrel port.

This is not use induced wear.

Barrel looks like a new Glock barrel. This gun is treated like a baby kitten when I disassemble and assemble. It's never even been dropped and the only tool that's gone near that end of the slide was the Glock front sight tool.

Perhaps that "defect" was always there from the beginning. OP, you do know that this is a cosmetic issue right?
