Ruger SP101 wiley clapp California Legal?

By reading the California roster, I get very confused.

On the roster, only the "Ruger SP101 05773 / Steel Revolver 4.20" .327 Fed. Mag" is there.

However, when I visited my local Bass Pro Shop today, I saw several Ruger SP101 of different configs other than 4.20 barrel and those were in 357mag/38spl caliber.

So here is my question: Is Ruger SP101 wiley clapp 357 MAG California Legal?

    Thank you for any input!

There are a bunch of SP101s on roster...

...but the Clapp variants are not.

      Yes, it is CA legal.

However, since it is not listed on the Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale, it can only be obtained using an exemption (LEO sale, PPT, out-of-state intra-familial gift, SAE).

That is too bad. Guess I'll just go with the regular SP101. Thanks.

Sounds like quite some hassle. Thank you for the info though!

Sounds like you don't really want one then.

The particular model I'm looking at (MODEL NUMBER: 5774) has a barrel length of 2.25". The conversion approach doesn't apply. But it is great info to know.
