if less than 2k jump on it!!
I once pondered over the debate of 9mm vs. .40, then I was introduced to .38 super and 10mm and forgot all about it.

              $2000 for that?

              Pass.

Many better 1911 semi customs out there for that price.

Curious if the op reveals the price.

I am betting its from the Colt collection when they were making the el capitan, el gordo, el hefe, el etc, etc.

I had a Colt 38 Super back in the 1980s. I am a big experimenter since I am a reloader. You can make a 88 grain JHP fly and another favorite was a 160 grain LRN. If I had extra cash I would jump on it but $1500 - $2000 is too much for me.

I had a Colt Combat Commander in the early 90's in matte nickel with beautiful wood grips. A sight to behold!

I could not keep any shots in the 9 ring (on a rest) with it so, after a bit of study finding that the cartridge head-spaced on the semi-rebated rim (and not well), I ordered a Bar-Sto barrel that head-spaced the cartridge on the case mouth like the 9mm and the .45 ACP.

After that, I could hit the 9 ring and occasionally the 10 (on a rest), but I was disgusted with its performance. I never discerned what the problem was and just traded it. And I am a 1911 afficiando.

I hope all of you having .38 Supers have better luck.

                          Jim
