    Beretta M9A1 issue.

I was cleaning my gun and noticed what looked like a metal gouge on the side of the barrel. It's not to deep but still noticeable. Is it anything I should be concerned about. The gouge is right next to the feed ramp.2016-08-08 08.29.10.jpg

    No problem.

The sharp corners of the extractor cutout in the barrel will be the weak point.

Be sure to ask your doctor if depression, rectal bleeding, and suicide are right for you.

Shouldn't pose a problem. A couple of my CZ's have those gouges and have not been problematic.

Doesn't look so bad in the photo. Is there a burr there? I would say keep running that barrel.

Yeah, that little metallic mark is kind of a small gouge in the metal. When I run my ringer through there it get hung up on it. I was posting on here cause I wasn't sure if I should worry about it

Thanks for the info. When you say weakpoint, is that something to worry about as I keep putting rounds through it?

You could take a small stone and de-burr that spot if it bothers you. Should not influence the operation of the gun.

(e.g. a burr would be metal that protrudes outside the normal surface of the barrel that would catch your finger...a small dent with no material protruding is ok)

NO. It just means that if the barrel would break, it will brake there. Your locking block will break before the barrel unless you shoot bad ammo.

Thanks for the info sir. No worries there, I don't use steel case or aluminum. Just good fmj ammo.
