    Another CZ75 thread

I just got this in today from Bud's Guns.

The original black paint is long gone, but the parkerizing underneath is in really good shape. Not to bad for a gun that was made in 1986 and was carried to death. The bore is perfect and all numbers match. Only real messed up part is the left grip panel.

All in all, I am really happy with this one. The first one I got was so beat up I sent it back. It was a transitional 75 with a ring hammer that looked as though it was drug behind a car for many miles and then used as a door stop.

I'm assuming Interarms was the importer. Nice find. I would do a complete disassembly, address any worn parts, change springs, strip the original bluing gradually with various grit aluminum oxide sand paper 400-2000. Then I'd take it to my bench polisher. Like the original style spur hammer.

I am debating on leaving it alone as the parkerizing is pretty nice, or degreasing it and moly coating it flat black like it was when new. This is a pure pre B model CZ75 (no transitional features) and I am liking the heck out of it. My son ordered one and got a 75B in about 90%+ condition. For under three bills, I think it's a heck of a deal. To add a bit of icing to the cake, Bud's doesn't charge for shipping.

I think it's cool that it was made before the fall of the Soviet Union.

I wouldn't dream of doing that to this gun. I will probably buy a set of springs for it eventually, but right now it functions flawlessly.

I am leaning towards recoating it as I have a lot of Molycoat left after my last project, so the cost to do it is virtually nothing.

Molycoat, for those who aren't familiar with it, is a process like cerakote or duracote. You spray it on and then bake the part at 325 degrees for an hour or so. It becomes impervious to solvents or oils and is very hard so it won't scratch easily.
