G39 vs Shield vs XDS 4 vs Carry 1911's for .45 ACP CCW

I'm kind of an extremes person so I have a P238 .380 and a G29SF 10mm for CCW. The P238 is nice if I want something rather than nothing. The G29SF is good for deader than dead but isn't comfortable, for me, to CCW unless I have some extra winter clothing going on.

I'm looking for something in .45 that meets the in-between of the P238's easier concealability/comfort while also having more knock down power than a .380 or 9mm (like my G29 does).

I've looked into stats and comparisons of all the guns but would like to get some advice on here as well. Thoughts?

Another possible .45 model is the Sig P320 and waiting for them to come out with the smaller frames and whatnot for CCW. That's assuming they do develop them later without any hiccups.

XDS 4". The barrel size matters in .45. 3 inches is just not enough to get that round up to speed. I think I saw a 4" XDS listed here for $750.

Maybe look for an off roster M&P 45c? Roughly about the size of a G19.

        Just a thought...

The shield is very popular. I see several of theme every time I go back for more training. I have one on my list, but I never carry it. Turns out I prefer a hammer fired pistol. YMMV

As far as "knockdown power" most handguns don't have any.
Shot placement is the most important. Then the size of the hole it makes.
I carry and XDs .45. I find any double stack too thick.
Shield in 9mm or .40 are good to go if you want those calibers.
