    CZ 75 checkering?

So, I shot this CZ 9mm. Shot pretty well and wondered if my hands could use some help with the gripping. Has anyone thought about checkering the back or front straps of this fine Czech republic pistol or am I original. Thoughts, help, input, etc. Thanks

I've used grip tape. Too cheap to pay for checking.

Are the grips comfortable? Do you need a larger, or thinner grip?

I have an SP-01 with cast in checkering and a 75b SA with nothing. I have no issues with either gun.

I think I am going to buy thinner grips without the OEM swell but just thought it might feel a bit better with some checkering instead of the smooth frontstrap and backstrap. Plus, if done right, will look and feel nice.

I bought some G10 grips recently and they are great, way better than stock. Give it a thinner profile also.

Stuart is trying to see if they can program checkering and grip reduction on their CNC. I know the grip tape works well but aesthetically is subpar. If they could get the same checkering and grip reduction like on the CZ TS Orange, I'll have them do all of my CZs.

Now that would be cool. Please post the results when and if they are able to program the checkering for the CZ pistols. CGW doesn't do it? Or CZ Custom?

Put a good set of VZ grips on mine. Best thing I did for my 75 BD along with adj sights now it's a nice little tack driver

                    Stuart works at CZ Custom.

The only issue with grip frame checkering is you need to refinish the frame afterward. I have seen a few folks do custom grip checkering on the CZ TS they were already refinishing due to grip size reduction. It came out quite nice on the ones i have seen.

That would be so nice if CZC can do it in house. As it is, I had planned for a recheckering to be done to a gun I sent him at an outside smith. I should send him an e-mail.

Do you know where the recheckering was done, Tok?

I believe i have seen custom checkering from CZC. I assume any shop that offers CZ frame work could do it. The others i have seen were home jobs, part of people doing their own TS grip frame reductions. Let me see if i can find some pics.

Edit: There is a decent picture in this thread.

Yes, that would be bad to have to refinish a new pistol. I am ordering the G10 grips. The hard plastic grip panels and swelling isn't the most comfortable. Thanks all
