Maybe a question that has been answered a million times, but I will anyway. What if your wife has a firearm but is only comfortable with a .22 handgun. Should she even bother? I know that it could just "tick off" someone amped on drugs, but if you put 4 or 5 rounds in someone, I would think it would most likely get them to turn away.

I have also wondered about this as well in the sense that you could pretty easily fire 10 rounds of .22 in less than 3 seconds, reload and go again compared to a few rounds of a larger cal. (secondary to the recoil).

Ask your self the question, how will the adrenaline with your wife at that time of potential life and death? Do you think she will be able get all 10 rounds into the BG?? With a shot gun you have 10 or more pellets going at once. Why not teach her to use a 870 pump shotgun and put a kids stock on it? If recoil is too bad for her then consider a 20 gauge again with a kids stock and practice, practice, practice. Just my two cents.

        Just my opinion.
I think it fair to say that the adrenaline of someone breaking in is gonna wake your a** up right away, no doubt in my mind.

Me, I'm going with the handgun. Easier to maneuver, no racking between rounds, easier to pie doorways and what not

I prefer the ma-duece. Its mounted to the floor so you can't argue anything other than defense. Very hard to prosecute, and enough power to stop a PCP junkie.

The new Arctic is more intense than ever before, with over 3,500mW of fully variable power, all-new modes, and a laser power indicator. Prepare to witness what the next generation of ultimate laser technology can do.

An intruder cant shoot what they can't see.
That's an impressively large laser spot. However, like Deal said in not so few words, it takes time to get the laser on target, and until then, you're giving yourself away.

+1 and just a little bit extra advice. There is one posting who on this thread who is so very wrong on the biggest part of his career on here. He's only been on here a short time but has a bunch of posts.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

Shot placement matters much more than caliber does. A few well placed shots to the BGs center of mass usually does the trick, even with a .22lr handgun.
