LIGHT strikes on my Glock 34

On an average about 1 out of 10 times I get a light strike on my Glock. I can see the firing pin hits it, but not hard enough. This was happening on 2 different G34's. Both of them have an upgraded firing pin. One firing pin is from Glockworx and the other a titantium firing pin from Lone Wolf. Do I need a heavier firing pin spring???

    Try your stock spring.

This is why I dislike Ti strikers...

Whenever you have problem with a Glock, the first step is to swap back to the stock parts. I'm not saying mods can't be as reliable but it sure help to isolate the problem. If the light strike happen 1 out of 10 rounds in modded fire pin, and don't happen on stock fire pin. Than you can take that fire pin back to where ever you got it from and ask them what's up. By the way, what did the mod fire pin has to offer over you stock fire pin set, if you don't mind I asking.

Are you doing your own reloads? Maybe your primers are sitting too high.

If you are reloading try Federal primers!

Try using the stock pin and spring. What was wrong with it in the first place, anyway?

The combination of striker, striker spring, and primer hardness are all factors in getting reliable ignition.. If you're having issues with light strikes, youll need to address one if not more of these areas..

There are a couple of ideas behind using a Ti striker.. One is to give it a faster locktime.. meaning, the moment you press the trigger, is the exact moment the gun fires.. There is a tiny delay from the time it takes your firing pin to actually reach and hit the back of the primer.. you're suppose tol get a more accurate shot if this time is reduced.. The other part is that with a lighter firing pin, you can use a lighter firing pin spring to also reduce the trigger pull.. The idea here is that you can achieve a higher velocity (or same) by reducing the mass of the firing pin.. couple this with a lighter spring and you're suppose to be able to achieve reliable ignition while simultaneously reducing the trigger pull..

Unfortunately, as the OP has witnesses, once you start modding a glock, the reliability typically gets compromised.. Not to be completely obvious, but swapping out the aftermarket parts for OEM will definitely return the gun to a more reliable state.. If, however, you're really intent on using the Ti parts, then youll need to use a heavier firing pin spring or ensure that the primers you're using are 'softer' and well seated (if you're reloading)

I do empathize with the quest for an improved Glock trigger, but I'll say that if it comes at the expense of reliablity, then it's really up to you to determine if the added benefit outweighs the cons..

Ditto. Most aftermarket Glock parts are solutions looking for a problem.
