    Dan Wesson CBOB bead-blasted

Got it back from the gunsmith yesterday. I really like how it turned out. Wanted more of a satin-like finish. Also swapped out the smooth MSH with an Ed Brown skip-line checkering MSH, and put on a 10-8 rear sight (.156") with a Dawson Precision fiber-optic front (.115").

The gunsmith is Mark Bunach, the OC Gunsmith in Orange:

Man that looks great, good job. Just got my Pm7 Ion Bonded myself, then promptly put a small idiot scratch on it. Last time I ever clean my 1911 while knocking back Sierra Nevadas and watching Netflix.

Luckily a bit of elbow grease and removal of a few micro of material from the ion bond and the scratch is almost unnoticeable. I really need to shine a light on it and look at it at a very specific angle for the scratch to show up.

That's nice - I may want to do the same with mine. My stainless VBOB has a satin finish and I like it more.

Both of the DW look awesome!!! Did you install the MSH or had your gunsmith do it?

Both of those turned out great! I will get a Cbob sometime! I like the finish on my SS Specialist, but does anyone know if their custom shop does the duty coat on them?

TomT, where did you get the IonBond done? Did they do the prep work also? What was the turnaround time?

                        Thanks,
                        JT

I had it done at Fusion, if you just do the ION Bond it would be around $300. However I had other work done which brings up the prices to $500. Yes they will prep the firearm, the $300 is for everything Ion Bond wise.
