    Good Day At Work

I spent my morning cleaning up a disastrous mess of paper, relics of two predecessors (one who was fired for incompetence). As the hours marched, I found myself increasingly frustrated and belligerent toward inanimate objects. I had to take a break.

Returning to my office, there was a FEDEX medium box sitting on my chair. I knew who sent it. I knew what was within. Still agitated I slit open the box welcoming a waterfall of foam peanuts. A fat green soft-case nestled inside.

I unzipped the case and the bouquet of gun oil tickled my nose. I reached in, grasped the stippled grip, marvelled at the beauty and symmetry of the metalwork, the figure of the stocks, the balance of the pistol. A peace flowed through me.

SRT.....Zen therapy........the gents at YoBo should get a patent.

Thank you Jason Burton and Ted Yost for art posing as a magnificent machine.

    Here are the pics.

JD, that's a purdy gun. I'm sure he's done more than refinish it (new bbl? trigger work?)

I trust the mag disconnect safety has been removed? [*major* trigger improvement]

My mag disco safety was removed by an idiot home gunsmith reading a page off the web about it. (The idiot is the same one currently writing this missive.) Cocks and fires, but trigger often doesn't return to orig position (i.e., it stays down). Prob simple thing, gotta drop it by the smith.

Same here, if I opened that box at work and anybody saw what was in it, I'd be fired immediately and escorted from the building.

Which is why I would have to sneak it into one of the stalls in the bathroom and open it there.

lol...unfortunately for me, they open all mail before it gets delivered, unless marked 'personal/confidential.' but all boxes get opened. it wasn't too purdy when i had 500rd of .223 delivered to work, but at least it was only ammo.

                    It's a Fabrique National (Browning High-Power)
The hammer, front & rear sights look aftermarket?
And the front and back strap look to be modified with a grippy texture, nice!
                    Aftermarket grips
The barrel looks to be standard FN factory.

Now the odd thing... the finish looks GREAT!! is it the standard matte finish? or is it the polished blue? Looks like the matte, but it's kinda shinny? VERY NICE!

That really is a beautiful weapon. I keep coming back to look at it some more, heheh.

I like the dark stripes in the cocobolo grips, the bobbed hammer, the stippling on the backstrap and how it's curved at the top. It also looks stippled all along the top of the slide, between the front and rear sight... Very nice.

                          Did you mean "Fabrique Nationale"

                          check the history

FN and John Moses Browning also jointly developed the Browning GP35 'High Power' (sometimes written as Hi-Power) pistol, the GP standing for Grande Puissance or "high power" in French.

                            Sure.

You can't make the original buy that way, but once the transfer is made, you can send it out for customization or repair. Whether the carrier will accept it (and where, what facility, will accept it) is another question.

Bill, I've seen this problem before too, if you're willing, all you need to do is polish the inside the frame where the vertical transfer bar moves to contact the horizontal transfer bar. I don't know what the proper name is for this piece, but it's the one nestled in the trigger going up vertically.

I will try to take some pics and show you what I'm talking about.
