What happens to these pistols?

If this is a dupe I apologize, point me in the direction if so.

I have a very good friend of mine, an old timer with a collection we would all cream over. Not being very computer savvy and watching the news, he fears his rifles and pistols will be taken away. I explained to him the basics of staying legal with his black rifles.

He posed this question to me. He has Hk53's, MP9's of various configurations, but all pistols. What does he do with those? How can he make those compliant?

Right now we are waiting for the implementing regulations to be issued on the various new laws.
Until we know the regulations nobody can say for sure what mods will be acceptable.
We should see something by the end of this year.
From then you will have a year to get things in order.
For now, we all have to wait.

Yeah I don't think that's going to happen with this guy. You would have to carry him off his land in a body bag before he gave up his arms. He is basically Lieutenant Dan from Forrest Gump, a man in his family has served in every war this country has been in. Nam, Korean conflict, WW2 etc.

If they are pistols, he has no choice but to register them, turn them in, sell them out of state, make them single shot, weld a 10 round magazine in place, or be a scofflaw.

The latest round of legislation will turn millions of law abiding gun owners into felons.
