    FS-92 Question?

Last night I was putting in the D spring and metal trigger kit in my Beretta 92FS Inox.

After successful function checks I realized the hammer has a partial lock point (not fully cocked).

What is this hammer position used for? I've only been shooting for a few years now and this was my first handgun. (Not my last though )

    Thanks !

    sorry for the double post

As far as I know that position is an additional safety should the cocked hammer somehow dislodge from the sear without the trigger being pulled.

And as far as I remember this is not a position for carry.
