How are AR15 pistols affected with the new laws?

I own an AR15 pistol with a bullet button, an EXP556, that I bought last year through the Single Shot Exemption rule. Am I going to be a criminal in January?

That's weird... When I search I find plenty of info.

          Here's a start:

Best option is to sell it to me for $500

Quiet said it correctly (I may be wrong as I no longer even live in California):
You just have to do one of the following options:
              • A. Register it as an assault weapon.
              • B. Replace the "bullet button" style maglock with a maglock which requires disassembling the action/receiver in order to remove the magazine.
              • C. Weld a 10 round magazine into the magwell.
              • D. Remove the gas piston and plug the gas block, in order to make it a straight pull bolt-action.
              • E. Take it out of state, in order to store it or sell through an out-of-state FFL dealer.
              • F. Surrender it to law enforcement for destruction.

The fate of the wounded rest in the hands of the ones who apply the first dressing.

No search needed, if you scroll down to 3-4 threads passed this one you made you'll find this - http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s....php?t=1214666

If that doesn't clear things up, there is a flow chart linked above for long guns and pistols.

I will emphasize one thing since it's brought up so often in other threads - there is no such thing as a featureless ar/ak pistol.

                  G. Registered, sell via FFL with AW permit to LEO or out of state (where legal).
                  H. Gun buy back event (if you want a stinkin' $100 gift card)

I guess one question I have, is if the Pistol is unregistered, in compliant format (ie BB reloaded), can it still be PPT'd (after 2018)? The likely answer is that we will have to see what unfolds over the next year before we can answer that....
