    FLGR

I was thinking of converting My Delta Elite to a full length guide rod to match my XSE! What would be the cons of doing such?
I once pondered over the debate of 9mm vs. .40, then I was introduced to .38 super and 10mm and forgot all about it.

No cons, just isn't necessary for function.

No issues, I have 'em on all my shooters. It brings the nose down slightly, thats all.

I prefer the ONE PIECE full length guide rod. I have them on my Kimber Custom II, and installed one on my Colt 1991. It tightened up the fit of frame/slide which I like. Gave a smoother function too.

No real draw backs aside from a little bit more effort to take the gun down. You also can't strip by taking the guide rod out before the barrel. You'd have to remove the bushing first then everything else.

Not a fan of FLGR's for a couple reasons. For one, I don't like the idea of having to use a tool to take down my guns. Second, when I tried one in one of my 1911's (two piece type) it would loosen up under recoil. When I bought an XSE I went the other way and changed it over to a standard set-up.

If you like that set-up though, go for it.

I agree with Dimitri, had a FLGR but didn't want to need to use a Allen wrench to remove it/take the gun down.

Pros: Adds weight. Some say it cycles smoother. In reality, I can feel no difference.

Cons: Adds weight. Adds complexity. Another part to break. No press checks, if you're into that sort of thing.

Stick with a good ONE PIECE rod if you get one. I find I can use a mag 'tongue' to press in the spring plug to take down the bushing.

Les Baer does not run them (or didn't anyways), and the guns were guaranteed to shoot 3" to 1.5" groups at 50 yards.

I do not see the point of a FLGR. Bunch of tacti-cool crap. Stick with the GI.

I prefer the GI setup, but have to confess I have been too lazy/cheap to convert the last few FLGRs I had.

I see no need for them, extra work to take apart.
