It all started with a magazine...

I decided it would be nice to have a 9mm AR, because why not...

So I got all my parts, and when it was time to choose between Colt or Glock style lowers, I chose the Glock style, considering how easy it is to get 9mm Glock magazines, not that ordering a bunch of colt style mags wouldn't be difficult.

Put it all together, and ended up with an extremely fun rifle, fed by Glock magazines...and here I am with a ton of M&P9 mags(to go with my 4 M&P9 pistols)...then I started doing the math.

    9mm AR = Cool
    M&P9 + M&P9c + M&P9L + M&P Shield 9mm = Badass
    9mm AR + 9mm Glock = Perfection

So I ended up buying a Glock 34, because why not? Now I can use the same ammo and mags for 2 firearms.

So that's how Glock made me buy one of their pistols, cause I never wanted one before I got my New Frontier Armory lower...and one Glock magazine.

        that isn't all I own...or have owned/experienced

I've had my share of dissimilar platforms: Taurus PT92, S&W Sigma, 2 S&W 1911's, an M&P45, Walther P99, Sig Mosquito, Ruger SP101, Bersa Thunder 380, Browning Buckmark...I still own the last 3 in that list.

I wouldn't call myself a collector. If I were, I never would have sold any of the pistols I sold.

              Nice job OP.

I am building a 9mm AR with the Colt mags. It has been a bit of a challenge as you have to get a heavier buffer and a buffer spacer and the mags don't catch well.

I am near finished and can't wait to get it to the range.

The wide variety of options, and the various reviews(I did a crap load of research) on different Colt mag platforms is one reason I was swayed towards the Glock mag lower. I know that I could have gotten a dedicated Colt mag lower, but then magazines would be a tad harder to get, since anyone can walk into most gun stores and buy a 9mm Glock magazine. FYI, all sizes fit and work in my lower, from the 10 Glock 26 mags to the 33 round mags available in other free states. It was both of those reasons I chose the Glock-mag lower(New frontier Armory since I didn't mention that in my OP).

As far as the heavy buffer/spacer, I ordered the PSA 9mm Buffer for my build, but I didn't use a spacer. The only problems I had with my build was the BCG would get caught on the ejector, and it gouged it a little bit. I lightly filed the rough parts and the BCG moved freely back and forth after that. I noticed that problem during function tests after I got it all together, and it was quickly remedied after the filing. The other problem was the hammer spring in my lpk was weaker than a fetus limb, and it caused light strikes on the firing pin, so it wouldn't fire reliably at the range its first trip out. I swapped it out with another and it works great. It hasn't had any problems at all since I fixed the kinks and it's my favorite rifle now.
