CZ 75B 40S&W Range Report

Hello all. I picked up my CZ 75B chambered in 40 S&W today. I went straight to the range to shoot it and do a range report. Same as with my other two range reports on my CZ SP01 and CZ 97B, I shot from 7, 10, 15, and 25 yards, then went back to the 10 yard line and shot in double action only. From all positions I fired ten rounds from standing freehand, and then ten more resting on my ammo can. One thing I did do different today though, is I took about 30 rounds to practice with first before beginning the actual range report shooting. I wanted to get used to the trigger a little bit, which I didn't do with the SP01 or the 97B. Here are the results.

From 25 yards. Ten shots free hand and ten more rested. I wish I could do this one again because I know I could have done better. But that would be cheating so here it is.

I have already purchased the Cajun Gun Works Defensive Carry Package for this weapon, and I'll be installing it soon. It already has Meprolite night sights as well. My favorite sights. Even though you wouldn't be able to tell from that 25 yard line target. Ouch!!!!

Considering its the first time you took it out I don't think you should beat yourself up. Now stop buying czs save up for your move and set aside a tanfoglio fund.

As always, thanks for your range report. What I am curious about is comparing your 9mm SP-01 with the .40 S&W 75B and let everyone know how they feel when shooting side by side. Do you feel the .40 is much snappier? Which is more accurate or easier to shoot?

Nice shooting OP. So which CZ is next for you? I pick up my 75b SA (9mm) next week. It will be added to my TS, SP-01, P-01 and 97B.

.40 S&W have flat tip so they make a very clean hole.

Yes you are right. I always shoot the double action last, so by that time I'm already getting accustomed to the trigger/gun. I don't know if I can compare them yet because I still need to do the CGW Defensive Carry Package on this one. The SP01 already has it installed and is a great shooter. The .40 does have a little snap to it, but I wouldn't say it is uncontrollable. I always end up flinching now and then while shooting, but even though I always have my flyers on the target because of that, the .40 is a very accurate shooter. IMHO.
After I do the CGW trigger package install I'll take them out together and see if either one is actually more accurate from a bench rest position at say, 15 yards. I bet they'll be the same as far as accuracy goes. As far as only 3 responses to 140 views, I guess folks are getting tired of my range reports. I'm probably lucky I got that many views.

I'll have to check it out on YouTube and see what a Tactical Sport is. Right now I still want a CZ 75 Compact in 40 cal. I think I have a 75 compact in 9mm lined up.

Thanks for the report! I notice that in slow offhand fire I am a little more accurate/ consistent in double action, looks like you are too.

No they were not hollow points. When I went to pick up the pistol I didn't take any ammo with me because I had things to do so wasn't planning on taking it shooting right then and there. But after fondling it in the gun store while they checked the gun out to me, I just couldn't resist. I ended up buying some of the reloads that the shooting range has for sale. They all functioned properly, and I had no failures of any kind.
