The problem with colt or glock implementing this is that they would be required to make it work close to 100% of the time. Otherwise they can be sued by ag for unfair business practice or ucl.

In spite of kamela Harris declaring the technology exists, it does not.

Think about a six letter or digit unique code on the tip of firing pin. And it would have to be unique across all manufacturers. Glock can't use same serial number as colt, etc.

AFAIK, no new handguns can be added to the roster due to the micro stamping requirement (too expensive for manufacturers to implement).

However, those already on roster simply need to renew to continue to stay on roster but are not subject to the micro stamp requirement.

Microstamping as a technology does not exist (at any expense)

What kills us in Californianis the fact that any change (including a spring being purchased from a different vendor makes the pistol "new" and then it falls.off as there is no way to microstamp a new pistol)
