What is the difference between P6 and P225? I searched and did not see very clear answers. Do you prefer P6 or P225? Is it worth to buy? I have a P220R, P220 Cambat, P226R, and P320. I guess another SIG pistol won't hurt...

P6 is a German Police pistol. It has the little cutout in the hammer and has heavier hammer spring. The old P225 is a stamped slide with roll pin breech block. The new P225 is machined and is more or less a single stack P229.Comment

Old info...
I had the P225 many moons ago. The balance and ergonomics is top notch but the DA pull was awful. I tried to be patient with it to see if the DA pull would improve after more than a thousand rounds, it did not so I sold it.P225
In 1975 SIG-Sauer developed the P225 as a compact version of the 9mm P220 to meet the requirements of German police organizations. As part of the sweeping police reorganizations that followed the 1972 Black September terrorist attack on Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics, the West Germans set standards for police-issue handguns. Their criteria were: 9mm chambering, a magazine capacity of at least 8 rounds, and dimensions just slightly smaller than the P220. The P220 in 9mm was shortened, sacrificing one round of its 9 round magazine capacity, and dubbed the P225. The P225 was the first SIG-Sauer handgun with a hammer reset spring. A Double-Action only variant of the P225 is available.
The West Germans deemed the SIG-Sauer P225 acceptable and designated it the P6. The Heckler and Koch Polizei Selbstlade Pistole (PSP) was accepted as the P7, and the Walther entrant as the P5. The Walther P5 and H&K P7 (and the later P9) are marketed in the USA under those West German government designations. (Small Arms of the World - ISBN 0-88029-601-1)
The P225 (a.k.a. P6) positioned the magazine release in the place Americans have come to expect, on the left side of the frame where the trigger guard meets the grip panels. The P225 is easy to distinguish at a glance from the P220 and P226 by the shape of the trigger guard: the forward part of the guard is nearly vertical and the guard itself is very squarish. What doomed the P225 to a life of relative obscurity in the USA was its magazine capacity. Its single column magazine held only eight rounds. As high-capacity "wondernine" 9mm semi-autos gained favor in the 1980's, the P225 was left behind.
Like all semi-automatic handguns which contain the magazine within the grip of the gun, the magazine width sets a lower bound on the overall width of the grip. One advantage of the single column magazine is that the overall grip size of the P225 is smaller than that of the double column P226, P228, or P229. Lately, SIGARMS has attempted to revive the P225 as a higher-caliber alternative to the P230 for women and individuals with small hands. ("Which Pistol? Make Hers a SIG" - Gila May-Hayes - SIGARMS Handgunning)
IMO, the P239 is an improved version of the P225. DA pull is much better but it's a bit top heavy.
The new P225-A1, that's another animal I suppose.Comment

The above artical quoted by aca72 is pretty good. If I can offer just a couple of points
1. The grip portion of the 225/P6 and the 229/228 are the same size. the 225/P6 just uses thicker grips
2. The trigger pull of the 225/P6 will never be as "good" as the 220 or 228...the geometry is just different
Back to the OP.
1. The P6 comes with a heavier mainspring, which was requested during the German Police trials...this is easily changed.
2. The notch in the hammer of the P6 is to allow Police armorers to tell if the gun had been dropped
3. Most P6 come with a push button magazine release at the root of the trigger guard. An exception are the Swiss surplus P6 which have a hell release...because the journey is the worthier part...The Shepherd's TaleComment

Most prefer P225 because they are not as common as surplus P6s. It is definitely worth adding to your collection, for the right price of course.
P225/P6 is not a single stack version of P228. P225 is a chopped down version of P220, which was originally a 9mm gun.
P228 is a chopped down version of P226. P226 is not a double stack version of P220.
I have no idea how or why the new P225-A1 whatever is different than the old P225.
Some say P225 has the best ergo of any pistol. It's pretty good, but I can't hit anything with it.Comment

I don't know the difference between the two per se. The P6 I have has the SRT installed which makes follow up shots incredibly fast. I know the P6 I have prefers the original Sig Sauer P6 magazines compared to the newer 225a-1 models, Promag ones also.
I would say grab either, everyone I let shoot the P6 loves the feel and shoots it accurately. The stock sights, which are black on the pw arms are blacked out, could be improved. My cousin has the p320 and enjoys the p6 more.
I see your swartz is as big as mine, now let's see how well you handle itComment

Did you buy it because of the "Yeager" guy? Just kidding!
Congrats! and if you're like me, you are going to love it. I have P226's, P229's, P220 and P239 (picking up in 7days) and after shooting a fellow Calgunner's P225, it became my favorite due to how it felt when you hold it. Even my wife likes it very much that she outshot me as always.

The new P225A1 has more similarity to the P239 than the original P225. You can see the slide catch, decocker and trigger are same or very similar to P239. P225A1 also has the same barrel length as the P239. The marketing is the same as the M11A1: modify/create a gun to cling on the fame of a classic.NRA certified RSO, Pistol/Rifle/Personal Protection Inside The Home instructor, Certified SIG/Glock pistol armorer.Comment
