Why is it mag wells (especially the slim profile ones) don't work with 10 round Glock magazines. So far the Agency Arms and Revo-Tac slim profile models have been a no-go on my stock G22. Anyone know of a brand that WILL work?

MAG WELL FOR GLOCK

Thats weird ... I have the agency arms magwell on my G17 and it takes 10rd mags with no issues. I have it on my g19 also and no issues there also.Comment

Zev Tech PRO magwell and Suarez were not compatible with my CA 10rd mags on my Gen3 G19. Zev no longer lists the PRO as compatible with 10rd restricted mags, and when I talked with Suarez, they were having other buyers report the same issue I had.
They did work with standard capacity mags. I personally liked the Suarez, but both are nice.Comment

Actually I found the Suarez and salient magwell which look to be the same design to have issues with 10rd mags which don't have the metal piece in front. If it did have the metal piece in front then it worked.Zev Tech PRO magwell and Suarez were not compatible with my CA 10rd mags on my Gen3 G19. I'm guessing that maybe the Gen4 like you have might have some differences from the Gen3 - my friend has a Salient/VTAC that works just fine, but I couldn't get the mags to lock with the Suarez or Zev PRO, I tried 8 different 10rd mags with Dawson Precision +0 .200 baseplates and stock baseplates. Only mags that I could get to lock with either baseplate were standard capacity mags, which all had standard baseplates.
Zev told me to file down the magwell/and or the frame (lost my receipt, so they wouldn't accept a return on the magwell)- I might try to modify the magwell, but I'm not doing anything to the frame!
One of my G19's might be headed to Agency Arms for a build, and I might send the Zev along to see if they can make it work - the Zev felt great in my hand, it allowed my pinky to get good leverage on the front edge, which to me was the main draw, as magwells on polymer double stack frames are not as necessary as on a 1911.
That's a nice Gen4 you got there!Comment

I found from trial and error with my SAI magwell that the glock mags that worked were these one which had that metal plate in front or the mag. My other mags which didnt have this didnt work. Not sure why but that was the common trait of the mags that worked.I'm guessing that maybe the Gen4 like you have might have some differences from the Gen3 - my friend has a Salient/VTAC that works just fine, but I couldn't get the mags to lock with the Suarez or Zev PRO, I tried 8 different 10rd mags with Dawson Precision +0 .200 baseplates and stock baseplates. I didnt have any of these issues with the magpul or ets mags with stock baseplates.
I wonder if that will be the same for the zev magwell also. The AA Magwell didnt have any of these quirks with glock mags and locked with either one.

I see what you're saying - I'm going to have to try to find some of those. None of the 10rd mags I have here at the house have the metal plate like in your pic.
Thanks for the heads up!Comment

Tried agency, zev pro, and Suarez international. All no go with stock 10 round mags. Also go go with Vickers base pads even if used on 10/15 blocked mags. 10-8 performance pads are borderline as well. On a side note I'm really digging the magpul glock mags.Comment

Weird, the Zev Pro didn't work for me on my G23 Gen3, but the Suarez did. It's weird that none of those fit for you. Is your frame stippled or? Something isn't right.
P.S. Where do you guys get the Suarez floor plates? Can't find those anywhere!Comment

Suarez baseplates are the new unicorn. When I talked to them, they had sold out and were not planning on another run. I've been looking high and low for them myself. Maybe if the mob grabs the pitchforks and torches...
My frame is stock, newer Gen3. I might try some ETS or Magpul mags, but honestly have no desire to buy any more restricted mags just to make a magwell function. I'm going to keep an eye out for 10rd Glock mags like jpm804 posted above. I returned the Suarez (really cool company to deal with) but still have the Zev, so it'll be a low priority project.Comment

Weird, having no issues with 10rd mags on my AA magwell. Actually the AA is less picky about the 10rd mags used versus the Suarez/sai magwell. Also no issues with the tango down baseplates. I haven't tried the 10-8 plates yet but want to . I'll probably pickup a zev magwell to test since this topic has peaked my interest and hopefully help others trying to make this decision.

Yeah, guess we were on the same boat-- they told me the same thing.
I also had the Zev Tech Pro & SI magwells on my G23 Gen3 which is identical to your G19 frame. Both did not like the Vickers baseplates, but only the SI liked my stock CA 10-rounders. Zev Tech Pro wouldn't budge; was disappointed. Think I might just run extended +0 plates going forward.

I like the zev pro the best. Instead of the two piece magwell theirs is a single piece so that the magwell has a better funnel effect than either AA or SI. Also should mention that when I mean mine doesn't work with 10 round mags I mean the factory oem 10rnd. My 10/15 mags work perfectly in my gen 3 g19. Not sure how that all works for the -g17 in gen 3 or gen 4 flavors.Weird, having no issues with 10rd mags on my AA magwell.
