Sig p238 finger bite

I can only get about 2 mags through before it tears a hole in my finger.

Since this is going to be on my permit, I can't swap the trigger out.

Anyone have luck filing the sharp edge at the bottom of the factory trigger?

I've noticed that as well, but after about 100 rds. I think it would help if the trigger edges were smoothed & rounded. I was talking to my local shop about that, they can sand it down but it would lose the nice finish. Guess I will be taking it to the gunsmith then.

Doesnt matter who does the work, the finish will get removed. Two options. Refinish or polish the visible portions of the trigger and leave it contrasting.

Pictures please, finger and where the problem is on the trigger.
I've been thinking about one of these but have very large hands. Usually small guns can be modified by me somewhat to work.

This topic has come up here several times in the past.
Some of the past posted comments have been vague as to what actual part of the trigger is irritating, pinching or cutting what part of your finger so please be specific when posting.
My P238 irritates my index finger where it touches the sharp pointed edge on the lower limb of the trigger, see the red circle in the photo.
The trigger is plastic so it LOOKS like an easy fix with a couple of strokes from a nail file or emery board but I haven't done it yet.
I understand there are a couple of aftermarket metal replacement triggers out there so if anyone has done a conversion, is the lower limb still as sharp as the factory trigger?

∆ same issue. I ended up taking a file to it this morning and rounding it, since the aftermarket onrs apparently dont work with ca models.


Ps, my trigger was aluminum.

I'm not sure how this will apply to the 238, but i had a similar issue with my 239. After discussing it with my gunsmith, he put a 226/229 trigger in my 239. As i remember, he took 0.014" off both sides to make it fit the 239, and then sent the trigger out for cerakoating. Problem solved.

After how many rounds will it become an issues. Considering the P238, but only shot 2 mags worth (< 15 rounds) and didn't notice any hot sports. Got to shoot at Sports Fair - Mike Raahauge's last weekend.

If the trigger is plastic, it should be the same color throughout. Sanding won't change the looks.
If it's aluminum, like mine (newer Ca model), a little contrast from the smoothed areas wouldn't be a bad thing and would hardly be noticeable.
Should be a easy fix. Definitely, not worth paying someone to do it.
