Stainless VS Blue,Parkerized, bla bla bla

I couldn't find how to poll but i was wondering how many calgunners view any pistol finish other than stainless as Mfg'ers being CHEAP and trying to make more money with a cheaper finish? I personally don't like Blue, cerakote, Parker ect ect and prefer a shiny or matte stainless depending on the gun. I never buy a gun that isn't stainless unless there is no other option and i have to have it.

Carbon steel is stronger. How that affects things, probably not much until you get into the really high round counts.

I prefer blue. Stainless next. Parkerized last. Any painted poly job is just cheapening the gun.

I like stainless because it seems tougher and is easy to repair small scratches.

But im old enough to remember the huge galling issues when they first started making stainless semis. Its an evolution thing.

I don't like carrying shiny guns. I prefer something that won't reflect light at night if I have to use it.

I actually stay away from stainless until I have no choice. Carbon steel all the way for me.

I like bead blasted hard chrome with a flat finish.

Plus your get the carbon steel base metal.

Well, if you have to use it, wont it be belching fire and making a lot of noise?

I agree but i wouldn't be carrying a 1911 and glocks ect don't come in SS, nor should they.
But, if you get a shiny pistola, you can always get a matching grill

Maybe, maybe not. I will take every tactical advantage I can get. The longer it takes an aggressor to notice my firearm the better.

Stainless because it's the easiest to repair and it won't rust. And it's just as strong if not harder than carbon steel.

I actually love parkarized finishes and deep blue colt finishes but on scratch and it's a mess forever. Not so with stainless.

I love a classic blued gun. I would never consider a deep bluing on a Colt or S&W to be a cheaper finish. It's an intensive process to do it well.

That said, I also love the tough finish on my Glocks or coating on my Sig or my stainless guns. It just depends on the intended purpose, if it has a purpose besides simply being an awesome thing to own
