    1911 Smith

Anyone have experience with a good 1911 smith in the Inland Empire? My Kimber Team match II has quite a few FTF and FTE problems. This isn't a Glock , XD, to 1911 thread. I own all 3. The Kimber shoots dead nuts, just jams to much and I want to fix it.

    Thanks all

I would look into a better magazine first before you bring your gun to a smith. Try a Wilson Combat or KimPro Tac Mac. These are what I use on my Kimber Tactical Custom II and have not had any issues.

Second on Brad Blancett... He fixed a sig of mine with a squib and has 2 of my AR pistols right now. Has a specific background in 1911's
Montclair. Very very easy to deal with.

I would also recommend quality mags. I run Wilson Combat ETM's in my Kimber, and the gun has been 100%.

New mags, chip Mccormick, Wilson, and kimber. Consider replacing recoil spring next, then if all else fails, check faith armory in Temecula.

                    Hello all,

OP, I'm located in Upland, I work a lot of 1911s, estimate is free and most other gunsmith charge $65.00 just to look at it.

James has worked on my Kimber (machined off factory sights and installed new sights, installed ambitious safety and tuned extractor) and has done excellent work at a good price.

Could be extractor issue (too much or too little tension). Is this an internal extractor? Is it clocking? Try the tension test (look on YouTube) and maybe tension it before doing anything else. Quite simple.
