I have a Colt SA, also a Cimarron similarly equipped - 7 1/2" bbl, 45 Colt caliber. The Cimarron is their "7th Cavalry" version, I like it. There are some things that differentiate it from a Colt. The wood grips are finished with a poly coating that makes them too shiny and the hammer has case hardened sides, Colt's is polished steel. I'd like to get a 5 1/2" Colt clone and would like to know which marketer makes the most authentic version.
Whether blackpowder frame or later, half moon ejector rod head or full doesn't much matter to me. Grip frame, case hardened frame, sights and obviously no transfer bar - must have the hammer mounted firing pin.
I hear the EMF imported "Californian II" is supposed to be very good. And I'd like the gun to be in 44 Special.
