Trunk gun

Can't sleep.

Decided to see if I can mount a trunk gun without getting too fancy.

Galco holster
One ziptie
Existing holes under rear deck.
Sig P232 Alu

Works well. No rattles, and the trunk lid keeps the gun from backing out of holster.

Not legal where prohibited.

You will find your gun on floor shortly. Zip ties will not work any real length of time, especially with that sharp edge.

That seems like a really stupid idea.
Reason 1- whenever you open your trunk, people will see your gun.
Reason 2- as a general rule, I never point or allow and guns to be pointed at my person. Even if a gun is in a holster, I do not want it pointed at me.
Reason 3- no retention on the holster. I don't know how Nevada roads are, but in Cali they are pretty cruddy.

I assume you have a Nevada Carry Permit? Why put a perfectly good handgun
On a trunk lid for everyone to see?

Store it in a range bag or briefcase.

I was just playing around with mounting options. I will go to a permanent option with brackets or pushbutton access.

The trunk can be locked from inside of car with special key and is not accessible unless you tear out the rear seats or have possession of key fob.

I have CCW but am not allowed to carry at work. That gun gets worn when not at work.

I didn't say anything about it being loaded. Treat all guns as if they were loaded. Hence, my curiosity about having a pistol in SA mode in a holster.

If you wanted a safe, secure way to do what you want, I'd look at at something like a speedvault or a bulldog.

If the reason is that you can't carry at work. Why not mount a gun box under the seat? That way you can arm and disarm in your car with a bit more privacy.
