    Handgun limit?

    Is there a limit on the number of handguns a person can buy per month here in California?

      Unless you buy from another CA resident, not an FFL; that's a "PPT" and is exempt from 1 in 30 -- UNLESS that FFL you use (since 1991, nearly all transfers must use an FFL) is within the City of Los Angeles, which has its own 1-in-30 law.

      Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

          The 1 in 30 is especially painful on Black Friday.

            It's May 2016 and I still have handguns from 2015 that I haven't been able to DROS yet because of that damn 1-in-30.

                City of LA, 1 every 30 days no matter the source.

                Outside City of LA, 1 every 30 days from FFL stock or FFL transfer.
                No limit to face to face PPT.

                  There's the PPT exemption from the one a month limit and also there is the exemption for C&R handguns that are more than 50 years old if you have both a COE and a C&R type 3 FFL. This is also exempt from the 10 day waiting period.

                  COE = Certificate of Eligibility.

                  Public Where do I find laws regarding the possession of firearms? I'm not sure whether I have a California record that would prevent me from owning/possessing a firearm. Is there a way to find out before I attempt to purchase one? What is the process for purchasing a firearm in California? How can I obtain a Carry Concealed Weapon (CCW) license? Can I give a firearm to my adult child? Can he/she give it back to me later? Can I give a firearm to my spouse or registered domestic partner? Can he/she give it back to me later?

                  I am a collector of firearms and I want to purchase a pair of consecutively-numbered pistols. Is there an exemption from the one-handgun-per-30-day restriction for curio or relic collectors?
                  Yes, but it applies only to the acquisition of curio & relic firearms and you must have a valid federal Curio & Relic Collector's license and a valid Certificate of Eligibility.

                    I also think there is a restriction on private party handgun sellers of 4 per year?
                    If you find yourself in a fair fight, you're doing it all wrong.

                      Sellers can have 5 handgun PPTs per year.

                      Unlimited number of guns can be sold on one PPT though.

                        There's a limit on to how many you logical need. And that's one.

                            One for each ankle and one for each front pocket, so maybe 4
