I'm shopping for a new gun, something smaller than my xd40 cal for concealed carry. Been looking at the Taurus G2 in 9mm. I've seen some pretty good reviews on line but would like some input from this forum. Any help or views here?? Thanks.

I currently own 2 Taurus handguns. I would trust either with my life. That being said that doesn't mean all Taurus handguns are as reliable as mine.

All I asked for was input as to if the gun was good or not, not to be talked to like I am a total f'n idiot!! A simple explanation as to the good and bad points would have been fine.Comment

The older Taurus pistols (Beretta designs/clones) are good and reliable.
The newer Taurus pistols are plagued with reliability and safety issues.
Taurus was sued because of safety issues with almost all of their non-Beretta designs/clone pistols.
Last year, they lost that lawsuit and paid damages due to injuries caused by their pistols and initiated a recall on over 1 million pistols (owners were compensated $100-200 per pistol that was returned, depending on the model).
The safety issues:
1. Pistol can discharge when dropped.
2. Pistol can discharge when the safety is engaged.
3. Pistol can discharge if shaken.
4. Pistol can discharge when holstered.
5. Pistol can discharge while holstered and the holster is adjusted/shaken/manipulated.Last edited by Quiet; 05-25-2016, 6:56 PM.sigpic
