AR Pistol questions

I am looking to acquire a AR Pistol, I would prefer to do a build. I've been told I cannot register a lower as a pistol at this point, but if it is built off of a 80% can it still be done legally? Other than purchasing in the used market, can it be done?

Im going to make it simple

Option 1:
Buy a registered pistol lower from a private sale (not worth it cause they are very expensive)

Option 2:
1. Buy a 80%
2. Mill it
3. Put it together
4. Make sure you SSE2 it (so no gas block, and block the magazine well. [do research on this])
5. After you do "SSE2" then you can convert it to normal


God forbid, if you don't "SSE2" it... the ATF will magically know about it and arrest you... since youre in california, that means most likely you'll get the death sentence.

Always SSE... simply take your pistol to the range, shoot 1 to 5 single shots through it and then go home and convert it. Its just as fun and ensures your process. You can also tweak as needed depending on your SSE test firing.

Not save you , but aid you.

I have spec plans, pics, dead jigs etc. I email the pics to myself to time stamp them etc. Knowing your process, specs and parts, dont just build but understand.
