    .22LR pistol

Hey everyone need some help. I am 22 and just got some amazing news that I need a major back surgery from a car accident I was involved in... best part is no offroading, hunting, fishing or anything fun for a year. My surgeon told me I can still hit the range but 22LR only.

I have a marlin 795 and a few bolt actions but I want a handgun. The handgun will also have to double as a HD gun (before anyone starts screaming at me yes I do realize 22LR is not nearly as effective as my hk40). It has to be a 22LR... Anything else can lead to permanent paralysis.

So my question is what on the roster 22lr? I was looking at the phoenix hp22's but the just look cheap... I did see a Walther Arms p22 that looked ok (+ same mag release as my HK). Any other ones I should be looking at? TIA

ruger bearcat. Or a single 6 in 22 mag. You may still be able to find gold dot ammo in 22mag. leave the loaded cylinder in the nitestand when you go to the range with your LR cylinder.

Phoenix HP22 is small, but many do not like the too safe safety mechanisms. Good write-ups about HP22 and other options on the rimfire forum here.

You could get a cz 75 with a kadet kit. Shoot 9mm when healed. A little on the expensive side but you,ll never get a better 22 pistol

                S&W Model 41
                Beretta 87 Target

But if you're willing to PPT off-roster, then I love my M&P 22.

Um sorry to burst your bubble but you can literally shoot anything from a bench. And you can shoot any handgun as it won't force any injury on the spine....

Your doctor is definitely not into guns and has little knowledge about recoil.

Even if you are having a 360 aka anterior posterior sx you will be fine within 7 days. I had a patient who had a ACDF I personally went shooting with him in 10 days after his procedure.

Now that's my assessment and my experience.

Now talking about .22s Buckmark, sig mosquito, and my fav s&w 617...

i would suggest browning buck mark or s&w 63.
in my opinion, the P22 is a good choice, too.
