    CZ 97B RANGE REPORT

Hello all. I just picked up the CZ 97B today, so I decided to take it straight to the range and do the same exact shooting I did for my CZ 75 SP01. From 7 yards, 10 yards, 15 yards, and 25 yards, then back to 10 yards for double action only shooting. At all distances I would shoot 10 rounds standing up free hand, and 10 rounds sitting down with my shooting hand resting on my ammo box as a rest. I used factory ammo.

I know I said I was going to shoot it stock before doing any upgrades, but I could not resist having the gunsmith install the Meprolight night sights while it was in jail. I also bought a set of rubber grips and aluminum grips to try out, which I did while I was at the range. It now has the aluminum grips installed as I liked them better.

7 yards away, 10 rounds standing free hand, and 10 resting on my ammo box.

10 yards Double Action only. Firing, then manually lowering the hammer, and repeating. 10 rounds standing free hand, and 10 rounds resting on my ammo box.

I know I have a lot of flyers and didn't do near as well with the CZ 97B as I did with the CZ 75 SP01. But I'll practice with it and improve little by little.

    Before and after

Here is how it looks now compared to when it was in the gun store.

Very nice! Every post I see with the aluminum grips convinces me more and more to get them for mine. I do like the chunkier feel of the wood grips though. Thanks for the report.
I am one of the many survivors of the great Calguns disaster of 2015.

Since the sights are not stock, it seems you are shooting a little to the right so maybe the rear sight needs to be drifted slightly over to the right. Thanks for the report.

Yes I am shooting a little to the left. And I can actually feel a little ledge between the sights and the frame on the left side which would indicate it needing to be pushed over just a hair to the right. That should bring the POI back to center, but won't fix my flyers.

I really like the way the pistol feels with the aluminum grips. My hands are not large or small and although I could have gotten used to the wood grips, the aluminum grips just fit better.

I like the look of the thin grips but they turned out to be to flat and too thin for me. I really benefit from a palm swell when i can get it.
