    Help identifying this old handgun?

    Hi Gang -

My first post after a couple of years of reading and transacting - hope I do this correctly and am posting it in the right place.

Attached (hopefully) are pictures of an old, small 5 shot revolver with a folding trigger. It was owned by an good friend of mine who picked it up at a gun show (IIRC) some years back. He loved old things and picked it up purely as a curiosity (although we were not even sure it's that old). Sadly, he died about a year ago, and his widow (also my friend) asked what it was - so I thought I'd ask the community for her.

I don't see any recognizable manufacturer markings or caliber on it. I tried a 32 long in it for size - the round went about halfway into the chamber and then bound up (plenty of length left). Action works in either single or double action, but the hammer is a bear to cock for SA.

Identification, suggestions, or referrals to reference tools welcome. Thanks, and I hope everyone's having a great weekend.

It's a Velo Dog, made in either Germany or Belgium. Found one that looks very much like it in this page of images. Take a look for the proof marks, might give a clue as to country of origin.

Dennis Kroh at Empire Arms (a member here) should know...

To me, it looks a lot like a LePage revolver...though the ones I've seen all have concealed hammers (or maybe they're striker-fired, sorry...idk).
